Saturday I spend the day at a studio while the remaining 4 finalists in ‘Louis Nielsens Brillelook 2013′ did their photo shoot. It was fun to be “behind the scenes” and see how the talented and experienced photographer, Jonas Jensen, worked on getting the perfect shots. During the shoot, I had a chance to talk with each of the finalists and ask them a few questions. Below is my interview with finalist, Pernille Hansen (24):
– What got you to participate in this competition? “I think it is great that there is a competition where it’s actually cool to wear glasses. That’s why I liked the competition. Besides that I’m proud of my classic look!”
– What shape of glasses do you prefer? “The shape that fits me best are the square ones, but in this competition I have realized that I also can wear round glasses.”
– How do you see the eyewear trend this season? “I think the trend is very old school and it’s trendy with big glasses. I think it’s very cool for others, but unfortunately I can’t wear them. I just have to admire the cool hipster types who can carry that particular shape.”
– How many years have you worn glasses? “Since the end of 6th grade, so that’s about 10 years”.
– Can it be annoying to wear glasses? If so – when? “It can be annoying when I bike and it rains or snows – I can’t see anything! But besides that, there are only positive things to say about wearing glasses.”
– How many pairs of glasses do you have? “3 pairs”.
– What do you think about the competition so far? “I think it has been really fun and exciting, as it’s a world which us “normal” people usually don’t get to experience and access – unless you are a model or work at photo shoots. It has been nice to get makeup and hair done, and to wear different the types of glasses. Everybody has been really kind and patient and the atmosphere has been good”.
– Why do you think that you will win this competition? “I am going to win, since glasses suits me – many different styles. Besides that, I am positive and grateful to be in this competition and I enjoy the long process with makeup, hair and clothes… and I have given up half of my Italian vacation to be in the finale show!
